A

Futur simple corresponds to the will future tense in english

→ To make suggestions or predictions about the future

Exceptions to the Futur Simple Conjugation rules

A

→ Sometimes the e in the word stem get’s and accent grave
Example:
peser – je pèserai
modeler – je modèlerai

→ Some verbs get the consonants doubled
Example:
jeter – je jetterai

→ Some verbs ending in -rir, the i is omitted before adding an ending
Example:
courir – je courrai
mourir – je mourrai

→ For verbs ending in -yer, the y becomes i in futur simple (verbs ending in -ayer allow both i and y)
Example:
employer – j’emploierai, tu emploieras, il emploiera, nous emploierons, vous emploierez, ils emploieront
payer – je payerai/paierai

→ Verbs ending in -oir are irregular in futur simple (like avoir)
Example:
pouvoir – je pourrai, tu pourras, il pourra, nous pourrons, vous pourrez, ils pourront
