What is the PTI
PTI = Platform Train Interface. Includes the the full platform, the train, and the areas immediately above and behind the train.
What is the Dispatch Corridor?
Before dispatching your train, you must ensure the following is clear of all people and obstructions:
• the full length of the train
• the length of the platform accommodated by the train
• the gap between the train and the platform
• at least the height of the doors
If you cannot confirm any of the four above you must STOP what you are doing immediately!
What is the DKS?
The Door Key Switch. This energises the doors on the train. When ON, you can use the the door control panel and use the bell-buzzer.
What would you find on the door Control Panel?
Two Red Buttons - Pressed simultaneously to release all doors
One blue button - Close all doors
Local Door Switch
Green button - bell buzzer to driver
What do you do if you see any unsafe activity while leaving the platform during the dispatch process.
Stop the train immediately by giving a 1 on the bell buzzer to the driver. Failing this, stop the train yourself by pulling a passcom or applying the emergency brake.
