What is the process of Green Flag / Right Away Dispatch

A

• Stand by your local door
• When Platform is in view, energise your Door Key Switch or Door Control Panel
• Wait for the Kickback or Jolt
• Once felt, open your local door and step onto the platform with both feet
• Make sure the train is fully accommodated and acknowledge the dispatcher
• Once you are sure the train is fully accommodated, open the doors.
• Watch passengers boarding and alighting
• (STATION DEPENDENT) - two minutes before departure, if there is a TRTS button the DISPATCHER presses it
• Wait for a proceed aspect and correct route indication before commencing dispatch.
• 30 secs before departure, carry out a check of your Platform Train Interface - make sure everything is safe and no one is running towards the train - the dispatcher will also do the same.
• Check the signal for a proceed aspect (if there is a signal)
• Once done, the dispatcher will raise the white baton in the air - marking STATION WORK COMPLETE. You acknowledge them by raising one hand in the air.
• Close your doors
• Step back onto the platform with both feet and check your Dispatch corridor - make sure hazard lights extinguished, make sure doors are fully closed, no one is against the train and nothing is trapped in the doors
• Recheck the signal is still at proceed and the correct route information is showing
• Dispatcher will also do the same and give you a second white baton once done - TRAIN SAFETY CHECK COMPLETE - acknowledge by raising a green flag above your head in the air.
• Step back onto the train and close your local door
• You must NOT give two on the bell buzzer to the driver. This is because they get a right away signal from the Dispatcher.
• Stay by your local door until the train has fully cleared the platform observing it for any unsafe activity
• De-energise the DKS/DCP
• Carry on with Revenue Duties
