Q

How often should we feed this baby? why?

A

every 3 hours.

  • Q2 hrs won’t give the baby enough rest in between
  • Q4 hrs requires increased volume and the baby can’t handle sucking so much.
  • it takes about 1/2 an hour for an infant to complete a feeding, so prolonging it leads to exhaustion and decreased rest periods*
