Factors

A

Conditions arise from defective inherited
diseases. These include
Diseases-

cystic fibrosis, - causes the lungs to not clear fluid and such fluid like mucus collects in the lungs which can cause breathing difficulties.

brittle bone disease,

phenylketonuria (PKU)- the body is unable to process and absorb amino acids from proteins causing them to collect in the body.

Conditions - Huntington’s disease, Klinefelter’s
syndrome,
Down’s syndrome, colour blindness,

Duchenne muscular dystrophy- causes a weakness and decline in muscle growth causes patients to loose mobility..

Certain diseases
and conditions you are more susceptible to.
These are diseases such as cancer, high blood
cholesterol and diabetes.

Biological factors and pregnancy

A

If a woman is drinking while she is pregnant then she may suffer from
foetal alcohol syndrome,

lifestyle/diet during
pregnancy,
congenital defects (born with defects).

  • if a pregnant woman is exposed to infection this can then affect the baby e.g. measles or rubella.
