1
Q
what’s the standard equation for a circle
A
(x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2
2
Q
how do you convert a circle equation to standard form general form
A
subtract non variable term, then separate terms by variable
3
Q
How do you find a perfect square
A
- do your best to factor
- take half of the coefficient (the one that is not squared) and divide it by 2
- Square that number
- subtract and add that number within the parenthesis
- distribute
- move the exponent to the outside and bam!
4
Q
in standard form, what is the center of the circle
(x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2
A
(h,k)
