A

the countries all had alliances. so when serbia and Austria-Hungary (two countries with different allies) declared war the alliances fought too. It was declared a world war because of all of the countries involved. Canada had an alliance with the british so it was dragged into the conflict.

A

military equipment and wheat were exported to Europe. To increase production many women had to work because the men were dragged into the war. So women gained access to work that was closed to them before.
