A

Each country depends on others and so what happens in one place will increasingly have impacts on others.

Good illustration of this is COVID-19 which started in China but spread largely as a result of more frequent travel.

Remittances sent back to developing countries, Reduced unemployment in places where there is a lack of work.

What is unequal flows of Ideas and ADV and DIS ?

A

Generally flow from HICs to NEEs that want to emulate the success enjoyed by richer nations.

Multiculturalism : ADV - enables developing countries to integrate into global economy. DIS - citizens may see it as a dilution of their culture.

FREE TRADE : ADV - allows global markets to thrive and may help some LICs to attract investment. DIS - LICs may be outcompeted by free trade so protection will be needed.

Information and data flows - LICs have less access to mobile and internet services, Tech manufacture - access to tech such as laptops less in LICs
