Latitude
Mapping lines that run parallel to each other horizontally around the Earth. They do not converge or meet. The main latitude lines are the Equator, Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn.

Longitude
Mapping lines that run vertically around the Earth. There are 360 of them and they are also called meridians. They all meet at the North and South poles. The main longitude line is the Prime Meridian.
