What are outcome goals?
Goals based on the performance of others or the success of an individual, it isn’t always to win.

Goals judged against previous performances, improve personal accomplishments

What are process goals?
Goals used to improve technique, short term goals.

What are the benefits of goal setting?
Increased motivation
Improve confidence
Reduce anxiety
Regulate and sustain effort
Improve performance
What are the SMARTER principles
Specific - Clear, precise, relevant to athlete.
Measurable - assessment made with statistics
Achievable- within their capabilities?
Realistic - should be in reach to promote motivation.
Time- bound- short/ long term goals, deadline to achieve
Evaluate- review progress to make future goals
Re-do- once goal is completed, target can be re adjusted.
