What are Sikh views on crime?
Committing crime is always unjust.
Human beings are imperfect; they have free will - this is why people commit crime.
A justice system brings God’s justice into the world.

reflect this.
“O Farid! If you reform yourself you will meet me … and attain spiritual bliss” (GGS)

What are Sikh views about evil and suffering?
We are responsible for our own suffering due to our desires not being in our control and individual past actions (individual karma).
Suffering is the mechanism which brings us back to the reality of God.
Evil is just the absence of good and allows us to understand the value of goodness.
What are Christian views about suffering?
Suffering can be seen as a test, part of God’s plan.
What is the answer to the Inconsistent Triad for Christians?
Catholics: suffering and evil is as a result of ‘Original Sin’, with the help of God we can divert from our natural tendency to do evil.
Other Christians: God-given free will gives humans the power to do evil, but they should choose to do good.
What are Humanist views on suffering and evil?
Evil is human-caused.
Natural disasters (natural evil) are just part of living on an imperfect Earth.
