What powers did Elizabeth I have as monarch?
She could declare war, make peace, call and dismiss Parliament, appoint ministers and judges, and name her successor.
What was the Royal Court in Elizabethan England?
A group of over 1,000 people including nobles, entertainers, and servants who surrounded and advised the Queen.

What was the Privy Council and what did it do?
A small group of about 10–20 key advisers who managed daily government and advised Elizabeth.
