The 5 Stages of group development are?
Forming, Storming, Norming, Preforming, Transforming/Adjourning.
Forming
When the group comes together. Getting to know each other. Learning names.
Storming
When conflict arises within the group. Conflict is necessary for the growth of the group.
Norming
When the group establishes norms and acceptable behaviours. Making: Goals and Rules. A community forms.
Performing
The group is motivated and committed, sharing leadership and responsibility.
Transforming/Adjourning
When the groups goals are met. A time for reflection. Emotion as the group separates.
Forming - Leadership
Style is Autocratic and orientation is Task.
Storming - Leadership
Style is Democratic and orientation is high in both task and relationship. The leaders job is to facilitate conflict.
Norming - Leadership
Style is Abdicratic and orientation is Relationship.
Performing - Leadership
Style is Democratic and orientation is low in both task and relationship. The leaders job is to be a resource.
Transforming/Adjourning - Leadership
Style is Autocratic and orientation is task. the leaders job is to facilitate leaving, reflection and emotion.
