all did in life has come back to haut them in purgatory. The guilt that has been
portrayed here is regret and how they all wish they can go back in time to change
what they did as it would have them eternal misery.

This is some of the first signs of Scrooge feeling guilt. He realises that their are many people without the basic necessities. Scrooge now sees how the result of the riches treatment has affected the poor.

A

Scrooge feels uneasy as remembers how he treated Fred. This shows the reader scrooge has developed as a character due to ghosts as he now feels guilt from his actions. The reader will warm upto scrooge because he realises how he has now treated his family.
