3
Q

difference btwn SLL and CLL

A

same disease but SLL is lymphoma, leukocytosis in the LN, BM or other lymphoid tissue.
CLL is leukocytosis in the blood.

Differentiated by WCC. WCC rise means CLL, WCC normal means SLL.

Q

presentation for SLL / CLL

A

IBEARS

Incidental finding on routine FBC (generally well)
BM failure (thrombocytopeia, anaemia)
Enlarged LN (Lymphadenopathy)
Autoimmune disorders
Recurrent infections
Splenomegaly (P/w abdominal pain)

Q

what is a blast crisis

A

characterised by > 20% immature blasts making up the BM

when CML rapidly transforms into acute leukamia

17
Q

presentatino of CML

A
  • markedly elevated WCC, with granulocytic cells at various stages of maturatino
  • thrombocytosis
  • anaemia
  • extramedullary haemoptopoiesis: splenomegaly
18
Q

what is the presentatio of CLL

A
  • > 3 month persistent lymphocytosis
  • cytopenias
  • CD5, 19, 20, 23
  • smudge cells
