Q

How should treatment be carried out if someone is on a dual combo of aspirin and clopidogrel? Why?

A

Risk of thromboembolism from stopping drugs early > bleeding risk

  • Will be more prolonged bleeding up to 1h but can be stopped locally so note for treatment time
  • should start on one area e.g. 1XLA then assess bleeding before continuing
  • treatment should be done in stages for higher bleeding risk
