A

Ask - ask about smoking and their habits

Advise - on the risks of smoking and the benefits of cessation

Assess - assess their motivation to quit smoking and determine willingness to quit

Assist - aide in quitting, point them to smoking cessation areas

Arrange - arrange a follow up appt and ask them again at this

A

Psychiatric disorder

Positive symptoms that alter behaviour or thoughts
- hallucinations or delusions

Negative symptoms
- withdrawal from life and social activity around them
- no interest and flat emotions

A

Pyramidal tremor causing involuntary movement that may not get better when medication is stopped

What medication might someone with schizophrenia be on? What are some considerations?

A

Clozapine - not first line drug

Clozapine decreases neutrophil Level, so need full blood count and neutrophil level to be over 1

Causes hypersalivation

Stopping smoking on clozapine causes increase in the effects of the drug greatly, so be very careful as stopping smoking first might not be the best benefit
