  • Indication: 1) Shao Yang frigid extremities syndrome (Yang Jue - yang/hot type collapse) 2) LV/SP disharmony
  • Sx: 1) cold hands/feet; sometimes accompanied by - slight body fever, cough, palpatations, urinary difficulty, avdominal pain, diarrhea 2) distention and stifling sensation in hypochondriac and pain in epigastrium and abdomen
  • Fx: Vents the evil, releases constraint, spreads LV qi and regulates SP
  • T: Red w/ yellow coating
  • P: Wiry
  • Ingredients:
    Chai Hu 6g - raises clear yang, descends turbid yin
    Bai Shao 6g - nourish LV, preserves Yin
    Zhi Shi 6g
    Zhi Gan Cao 6g

  • Indication: LV qi stagnation, blood deficiency, SP T/T fx dysfunctions
  • Sx: Hypochondiac pain, HA, dizziness, dry mouth/throat, fatigue, poor appetite, possible - alternationg chills/fever, irregular menstruation, distended breasts
  • Fx: Spreads LV qi, releases constraint, strengthens SP, nourishes blood
  • T: Pale-red
  • P: Wiry, deficient

  • Indication: Painful diarrhea due to LV/SP disharmony
  • Sx: Recurrent borborygmus, abdominal pain or diarrhea with pain (starts with the urge to defacate and subsides after completion)
  • Fx: Spread the LV qi, tonify SP
  • T: Thin, white coating
  • P: Wiry, moderate or wiry, thin
  • Ingredients:
    Chao Bai Zhu (King) 6g - strengthen SP, dry damp
    Chai Bai Shao. 6g - soften overactive LV, alleviates pain
    Chao Shen Pi 4.5g - harmonizes LJ
    Fang Feng 3g - enters LV/SP channels
