Anisocoria
pupil of one eye differs in size than the other
Blepharoplasty
a type of surgery that repairs droppy eyelids and may involve removing excess skin, muscle and fat.
Diplopia
the perception of 2 images of a single object. may be monocular or binocular
Epistaxis
acute hemorrhage from the nostril, nasal cavity or nasopharynx.
Exophthalmos
bulging of the eye anteriorly out of the orbit. can be bilateral (Graves disease) or unilateral (orbital tumor)
Hearing Loss
reduced ability to hear sounds - can occur at any age.
Hemianopsia
loss of vision or blindness
Nyctalopia
inability to see dim light or at night

an instrument for inspecting the retina and other parts of the eye

anopia affecting a quarter of the field of vision. most commonly. associated with lesions in the occipital lobe - can also be temporal or parietal
Rhinitis
inflammation/swelling of the mucous membrane of the nose.
Scotoma
area of partial alteration in the field of vision consisting of a partially diminished or entirely degenerated visual acuity that is surrounded by a field of normal or relatively well preserved vision
Stereoscopic Vision
ability of the visual brain to register a sense of 3-D shape and form from visual inputs.. often refers to the depth of both eyes
Tinnitus
perception of noise or ringing in the ears.
Vertigo
sensation of spinning while stationary. associated with nausea/vomiting/unsteadiness/falls/difficulties walking.
