- subarachnoid hemorrhage;
- hemorrhagic stroke;
- HA due to cough. sexual or exertional = all looks like SAH

non contrast head CT;
if nl=> LP
hint: is there blood?

cause: infection/
- meningitis
- encephalitis

- Idiopathic Intracranial hypertension

if temporal arteritis: high suspicion=>
- corticosteroid +
- get temporal bx

HA caused by
- new
- abused or
- withdrawn substance or rx

withdraw the substance or
monitor resp to supportive care
