What are the 3 types of hearing loss?

Conductive, sensorineural, mixed.

What is conductive hearing loss?
A
Middle, outer ear preventing sound signals, due to infection, perforated eardrum, wax buildup, ossicular damage.

What is Sensorineural Hearing Loss?
A
Inner ear damage, hair cells of cochlea or fibers of auditory nerve.

What is mixed hearing loss?
A
Combination of both conductive and sensorineural.

What is otitis media?
A
Inflammatory disease in middle ear. Collection of fluid in the ear.
