What happened in the Brittany crisis?
-France invaded Brittany in 1487
-Henry raised extraordinary revenue
-Duchess Anne payed Henry to raise a small army however french won and Anne was forced to marry Charles 8th of France

Where Duchess Anne agreed to pay Henry to raise a small army to defend Brittany from France
What was the treaty of Dordrecht(Feb 1489?)
-Friendship treaty between England and Maximilian(HRE)
-Henry sent 3000 troops to help max’s who were under siege from French
-But max didn’t keep up with his side of the agreement and didn’t help England when they were being attacked by France
-Max then signed a new treaty with Charles of France- isolating Henry

-Charles of France promised to end his support with perkin warbeck in return for being called ruler of Brittany
-payed Henry back for all his war fees which = 745k gold crowns- 5k a year which was 5% of kings annual income

-income from revenue on Spanish goods rose from 33k in 1495 to 40k in 1509
-But Spain didn’t allow England to trade in the new world(America and Asia)

Ended the trade embargo between England and burgandy and allowed merchants to freely sell goods though burgandy without paying taxes
What was the malus intercursus?
England could now export cloth to burgandy without having to pay tax/customs duties

Included the pope,Ferdinand, Maximilian,Venice and Milan to aim to drive Charles of France out of Italy

-Henry’s nobles were eager for war so leniency towards Scot’s wasn’t tolerated

-1501-3 perpetual peace treaty formed as James 4th Henry’s daughter Margaret got married
