Practical to determine relationship between extension and force

A

Attach spring to clamp stand
Measure initial length of spring using a ruler
use a set square to avoid parrallac error
Attach mass to spring
Measure final length
Repeat with different masses
repeat each mass three times and caluclate average
Calculate change in length = extension
Force = mass x gravity
Plot a graph force against extension
