You can prevent this from happening in your spellwork by using items like crystals, stones, or full moon–charged water for extra energy. These items have an energy of their own that you can combine with your energy to raise enough power to cast a spell.

A

hold the item—for example, a crystal—in your hand. Visualize the energy in your hand mixing with the crystal’s energy. Feeling the heat in your hand at this point is normal—it means that you have harnessed energy and are ready to use it in a spell.

rebalance your energy levels. If you’re new to spellcasting, I recommend getting some grounding crystals or stones, such as hematite, moonstone, obsidian, and sodalite.

To begin grounding, you’ll want to

get as physically close to the ground as you can. Proximity to the ground will help foster an easier and smoother connection. Now visualize all the excess energy leaving your body while also focusing on your breathing. On every exhale, release a little bit more energy, feeling it flow to the ground.
