What is leadership style?
Refers to the ways that managers communicate with their employees to inspire and motivate them to work together to achieve an organization’s goals.
What is an autocratic leadership style?
A style where managers make quick decisions without staff input, suited for unskilled, highly organised work.
What are the drawbacks of an autocratic leadership style?
Increases absenteeism and staff turnover.
What does the participative (democratic) leadership style involve?
Consultation between managers and employees, engaging them in decision-making.
What is the contingency approach in management?
Suggests that management style should adapt to the situation, business environment, or nature of the task.
