GDP
- Gross Domestic Product
- The total value of all goods and services produced in a country in one year.
MEDC (more economically developed country)
A rich country with a strong economy, good infrastructure, and high living standards.
Example: UK, USA, Japan
LEDC (less economically developed country)
A poorer country with weaker economy, limited infrastructure, and lower living standards.
Example: Ethiopia, Nepal, Haiti
NIC (newly industrialised countries)
A country that is growing fast, moving from poor to rich, with increasing industry and exports.
Example: China, Brazil, India, Mexico
Life expectancy
The average number of years a person is expected to live in a particular country.
Freedom of the Press
The right of journalists to report news without censorship or government control.
Fertility rate
The average number of children born to a woman in her lifetime in a specific country.
Disposable Incomes
The amount of money a person has left to spend or save after paying taxes and essential bills.
GNI per Capita
The gross national income divided by the population, representing average income levels
What is HDI?
HDI (Human Development Index) is a measure of a country’s development, based on life expectancy, education, and income.
What is HPI?
HPI (Happy Planet Index) measures how well countries achieve long, happy, and sustainable lives using well-being, life expectancy, inequality, and ecological footprint.
