What is the criteria for metabolic syndrome
3/5 or more of the following: BP130/85 or higher (or on meds), HDL<50 in females and <40 in males, TG>150 or on meds, Waist > 35 in. in females and 40 in. in males, fasting blood sugar > 100
Which medications can induce dyslipidemia
Elevate LDLs: thiazide diuretics, steroids/glucocorticoids
Elevate TG: estrogen, thiazide diuretics, glucocorticoids
