What is hypertension?
A
A condition where the force of blood pushing against the artery walls is consistently too high
(high BP)

Exercise + Hypertension
A
Can help reduce hypertension over a long period of time - heart can pump more blood with less effort
(BP increases during exercise but this decreases post exercise)

Systolic >180

Guidelines
A
Hypertension Clinical Practice:
- 90 to 150 mins per week of moderate to vigorous intensity aerobic exercise
- 90 to 150 mins per week of dynamic resistance exercise (6 exs x 3 sets x 10 reps
(+ normal NICE guidelines)
