  • Characterized by a THYROID REPLACED BY NEST OF LYMPHOID TISSUE - thus being sensitized by the T lymphocytes / Autoantibodies bind to cell membrane causing an INFLAMMATION
  • Associated with enlargement of thyroid gland (GOITER)
  • A painless thyroiditis
