A

A

Brass is the same colour as the old pound coins

Difference between as and dupondius?

A

As is copper, dupondius is brass - sometimes look similar
Look then for radiate crown on emperor indicates dupondius, lunar crescent for empress (usually later coins)

How to identify gold / silver / copper by corrosion?

A

Gold coins do not really corrode
Silver often is a bit corroded
Copper corrodes very easily
