what is conservatism?
commitment to traditional values and ideas with opposition to change or innovation.the holding of political views that favour free enterprise, private ownership, and socially traditional ideas.
what is localism?
localism supports local production and consumption of goods, local control of government, and promotion of local history, local culture and local identity.
what is Organicism?
the philosophical position that states that the universe and its various parts (including human societies) ought to be considered alive and naturally ordered, much like a living organism.
what is Empiricism?
the idea that all learning comes from only experience and observations.
what is traditional conservatism?
emphasizes the importance of transcendent moral principles, manifested through certain posited natural laws to which it is claimed society should adhere.
what is new right conservatism?
trend in conservative politics that emerged in the 1980s and which represented a shift from some of the traditional values and ideas of traditional conservative politics. When looking at a New Right definition then, we need to look at two main characteristics; economic neoliberalism and neoconservatism.
what is Keynesian?
the idea that governments should play an active role in their countries’ economies, instead of just letting the free market reign. Specifically, Keynes advocated government spending to mitigate downturns in business cycles.
what is Little platoons?
Society is organic and multifaceted, comprising a host of small communities and organisations.
