Q

How long to avoid water in eye after cataract surgery

Which house hold cleaning chore should you avoid. Why

A

4 - 7days

Vacuum, the posistion and quick movement may increase IOP

18
Q

Difference between

Primary open-angle glaucoma

Primary angle-closure glaucoma

A

Primary open-angle glaucoma
(Most common, slow onset)

Primary angle-closure glaucoma
(Acute, Emergency)

19
Q

Diagnostic

Open-angle glaucoma Tonometry reading
Angle-closure glaucoma reading

20
Q

Which type of patient should you avoid preforming a ophthalmoscopic exam on

21
Q

Encourage to wear eye safety where (3)

A

Yard work, wood/metal shop, environment where drops or particulate matter is airborne

22
Q

How often eye exam for older than 40

23
Q

24
Q

Is it best EBP to ask a patient if they have a family history if vision problems

25
When instilling more than 1 type of eye drop in an eye How long do you wait between them
5 - 10 minutes
26
Bending from the waist Lifting more than 10 lbs Sneezing, blowing nose Strain bowel movement Vomit Sex Head in dependent posistion Wearing tight shirt colars Alll do what
Increase IOP
27
Use this technique during administration antiglacoma eye drops Purpose to prevent drops from traveling down duct and into nose
Punctal occlusion Push on inside corner of eye for 2 minutes
28
Macular degeneration affects this part of the eye
Retina
29
2 types of Macular degeneration
Age-related ( Dry or Wet) Or Exudative
30
Retinal capillaries become blocked this this type of AMD Growth of new blood vessles in macula, thin walls leak fluid
Dry Wet
31
AMD affects this field of vision
Center
32
Exudative macular degeneration develops (slowly/quickly) decreasing vision and forms a blood clots under the macula
Quickly
33
Dry AMD has no cure Treatment to slow disease includes
Dietary, antioxidantes, vitamin B12, carotenoids
34
Wet AMD can be improved how
Lazer to seal leaking blood vessel. Ocular injection of growth factor inhibitors
