  • thromboembolic pathology affecting the caudal aorta or iliac vessels
  • basically the whole rear end of the animal is ischaemic

A
  • very common in cats
  • rare in dogs

Presentation

A
  • pain, pulseless, pale, paretic hindlegs
  • very rarely can be seen as a unilateral forelimb problem in cats, but will be painful, pulseless, pale, paretic forelimb

A
  • cardiovascular disease in the cat
  • Cushing’s or kidneys in dogs
