What is a pathogen?
An organism/ particle that transfers diseases from one organism to another and harms host
What is a infectious disease?
A disease that can be transferred from one individual to another
What is a carrier?
An organism that shows no signs of being infected with a disease (asymptomatic) but can spread it
What is a disease reservoir?
Where disease is normally found. Either in a human, animal or a source of infection
What is an endemic?
A disease that’s always present in low levels
What is an epidemic?
Significant + rapid increase in a nom of cases of a disease
What is a pandemic?
Global rapid increase in cases of disease affecting many ppl
What is a vaccine?
Stimulates an immune response by using a non-pathogenic form of a microorganism
What is a vector?
Substance from one microorganism that affect the growth of anywhere microorganism
What is antibiotic resistance?
When a microorganism should be affected by an antibiotic but became resistant to it
