Q
How do you execute assertiveness and confidence?
A
- Set Boundaries: Clearly communicate your boundaries to others and enforce them when necessary. Let them know what behavior is acceptable and what is not.
- Stand Up for Yourself: Don’t be afraid to speak up when you feel disrespected or when someone says something inappropriate. Address the issue calmly but firmly. Be assertive.
- Confidence: Project confidence in your words and actions. People are less likely to disrespect someone who exudes self-assurance. Don’t get all emotionally riled up. Simply neutrally say this is rude, I don’t like that, etc.
- Know Your Worth: Recognize your own value and don’t allow others to diminish it. Remind yourself of your strengths and accomplishments.
- Choose Your Battles: Not every situation requires a confrontation. Evaluate whether it’s worth addressing or if it’s better to let it go.
- Stay Calm: Responding with anger or aggression can escalate the situation. Stay calm and composed when addressing disrespectful behavior.
- Lead by Example: Treat others with respect and dignity, and they are more likely to reciprocate.
- Focus on voice, volume 7, and diaphragm breathing.
