Weaponry
Machine gun- required teams of men to operate . Very heavy. Needed time to cool after use however they could fire 600 rounds per minute making them very effective defence weapons
Cavalry-by 1918 cavalry was replaced my vehicles which were effective mobile artillery
Chemical weapons-146 chemical attacks in ww1 . Most nations have banned the use of these weapons
Nuclear weapons- 1945 the A bomb was developed and owned by the USA . The arms race was between USSR and USA each trying to top the other with nuclear weaponry
Aircrafts-The flying corps had 63 aircrafts in 1914 and 22,000 by 1918. They were key in offensive strategies and provided mobility
Transport
1914 German troops are moved by train allowing for a surprise attack . Managed to transport six hundred thousand horses and 2 million men .
1918 motorised transport had increased , 55,000 trucks and 35000motorcycles
1940-aircrafts allowed paratroopers to get behind enemy lines.
1944 air support . Allies create the cab rank system . The process ensured there were planes always in the sky allowing for infantry to call for support
Surveillance

Radar was essential for Britains victory in the battle fo britain . The radar was used as an early warning system to detect enemy aircrafts
Guerrilla warfare
Used mostly by weaker armies that are unable to launch a full scale attack , instead they hit and run groups of the opposition whittling the numbers down . This tactic also included sabotaging transport links preventing the opposing side from receiving supplies
