Food and houses

They hunt deer, elk, wild geese and wild turkeys. They had berries and nuts. From seeds, the Indians learned to grow maze,or Indian corn. The Iroquois built their homes from barking tree trunks. These homes were called long houses. They are some times 100 feet long. Inside the house they build a fire to keep warm and for cooking.

Chippewa tribe
A
Chippewa were the best at making wig warms and canoes. The Chippewas lived in the Great Lakes area. They hunted moose and deer. In the spring they took the syrup from maple trees. They cooked the syrup to make maple sugar.
