They were trappers and fisherman. They fished with hooks, lines, nets and spears. They made long spears called harpoons.
They use these to catch whales in the ocean. The Indians use the blubber from the whales for many things. It was burned for heat. It was used for light.

The Indians built large homes out of red cedar trees. They built canoes and totem poles. The totem poles told the story of the Indian family.
