What it a type I error
When you reject the null hypothesis and it was actually true
What is a Type II error?
When you don’t reject the new hypothesis and it was actually false
What is a One Tailed Test?
When a researcher has predicted an association and an outcome
What is a Two Tailed test?
What a researcher has predicted in association but not an outcome
What does it mean if a result is ‘significant’?
It is not down to chance
What is nominal data?
Where you do a frequency count of separate variables ( e.g. people revising v people not revising)
What is ordinal data?
Measurements of the same variable but in ranking order (e.g. people revising 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours etc)
What is interval data?
Measurements taken on a scale where each unit is the same size
