What are tables good at showing?
Quantitative data
What are line graphs good for showing?
More than one set of data
What are bar charts good at showing?
Non-continuous data (when the variable is a category)
What can scattergrams tell you?
If two variables are related
What are histograms good at showing?
Continuous data
People doing revision right now:
Boys = 36
Girls = 24
Find the percentage who are boys
Find the total number of people
36 + 24 = 60
Then… (36\ 60) x 100 = 60%
Why do you need statistical significance?
Because you can never prove a hypothesis is 100% true
What does it mean if your results are not statistically significant?
They are probably down to chance
What is a null hypothesis?
The prediction you want to test
