I advised that they would need to look at floor space factors within tents for bars and dancing and justify the occupancy numbers in their event management plan.

Minimum guidance was taken from the Purple Guide, however the event exceeded minimum requirements and provided 10 urinals, 10 male toilets, 40 female toilets and 2 disabled toilets. All with hand basins

What is the purpose of safety advisory groups?

A

Co-ordinated by a Local Authority (LA) and made up of representatives from the LA, emergency services, other relevant bodies and the event organiser. SAGs provide a forum for discussing and advising on public safety at an event. They aim to help organisers with the planning, and management of an event and to encourage cooperation and coordination between all relevant agencies. They are non-statutory bodies and so do not have legal powers or responsibilities, and are not empowered to approve or prohibit events from taking place
