1) Thermoregulation (sweat evaporation, blood flow regulation)
2) Vitamin D production (skin precursor molecules mix with UV light to create Vit D)
3) Protection (skin is physical barrier to the elements)
4) Wound healing (granulation–formation of new tissues within skin layers)
