Q

Time you made mistake (internship program
or
make something up about ashok running webinars - didn’t capture post event metrics or names to send to sales..in the future made sure we did that)

A

S:
Not realizing how many rules would be involved for a semester long internship prog. We allowed some students to survey other schools

That was fine, just the manner they went about it went against corp policies. We should’ve reviewed their correspondence and they should have sent the primarily utilized social.

R:
We took ownership of the issue and better communicated in writing parameters around surveying. IBM was satisfied so the issue went no further, but I learned the importance of clearly communicating proper procedure when dealing with non ibmers.

Q

What’s another weakness? (prioritizing work)

A

When I initially started with my global marketing role, the role was vague since the position was still developing.

That being said I had a hard time prioritizing what work was essential and what wasn’t.

So the first thing I started doing was setting weekly meetings with the operations team and my manager. I consolidated all of our meeting communication, project planning in a private activity - where I assigned colors for priority ranking to each project I was working on.

What ended up happening was we would naturally agree on the most key assignments through weekly discussions. Now I make sure I agree on key items with my manager at least once a month.

Q

Greatest strength (taking ownership w/analytics days events)

A

Taking ownership…
One of the program managers was kicking of a series of events geared toward showcasing our analytics capabilities.

Wasn’t exactly a part of my job but I knew I could help so I created a…
+flyer template
+social media action plan
+blog template
+post event survey template
+promoted the events through monthly newsletters

Since there was no dedicated marketing support we were able to provide sufficient resources creating events in a box

For those who get the most impressions offer invitations to live book readings, live twitter roundtables with authors, or free downloads

Example 2.
