it was a powerful country that could’ve stopped the Nazsis but this opportunity was lost
showed h was aggressive and unreliable person and this conculsion penetrated the bubble of ignorance F,B were trying to retreat in.

russia bc stalin felt annoyed that h’s forces were closer and closer top the countries the USSR had strong relations with=threat to communism as h despised bolshevism
he lost trust in B,F who were following the policy of appeasement, and questioned whether or not war was inevitable
