Coordinating conjunctions
- A coordinating conjunction joins 2 parts / ideas of equal weight.
- FANBOYS - for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so
- He completed the lesson and received a certificate.
- Can use a comma before the conjunction e.g. She is tall, and I am short.
Subordinate conjunctions
- A subordinate conjunction joins a main clause and a subordinate clause.
- E.g. You may not visit her unless you have a good reason.
- These conjunctions can hide in the front or in the middel.
- When in front, a comma keeps its place in the middle.
