qualifications of a jury
A
- 18-76
- registered to vote
- cant have 5+ year sentance
- cant be on bail
- cant require assistance
- prison sentance has 10yr ban
- resident of uk/channel islands/isle of man for at least 5 years sinceb 13

selection and vetting
A
- names selected randomly from electoral register
- 15 names chosen
- DBS checks

challenges to the jury
A
court clerk will swear in 12/15 jurors, there are three challenges:
- to the array: whole jury have been chosen in an unrepresentative or biased way
- for cause: challenging an individual juror e.g related to or know a witness
- prosecution right to stand by: prosecution can pick 3/15 jurors ro stand by, only used where there are not enoug jurors to make up 12

dont have to base verdict on facts of law can base it on morals

its a criminal offence to disclose discussions made within the room, if they are made public the defendant can appeal the sentance
