KA2 Flashcards
(41 cards)
Tf is a hormone
A chemical that’s produced at one site and has an affect at another
What are hormones made by bruddah
Endocrine glands also they are secreted into the bloodstream
Hormones produced in the hypothalamus and pituitary gland control what
Control the onset of puberty
Sperm product
Menstrual cycle
Alr so at puberty the hypothalamus produces a released hormone which
Target is the pitautry gland
This stimulates the pituatry gland and does makes 2 hormones
FSH male & female
ICSH = M
LH = F
What does the release of hormones trigger
The onset of sperm production and menstrual cycle
FSH AND ICSH produced by the pituatry gland travel where
In the blood stream to the testes
FSH promotes sperm production where
Seminiferous tubules
Then what does ICSH stimulate
The interstitial cells to produce the hormone testosterone
What does the testosterone do
- Stimulate sperm production in the seminiferous tubules
- Activates the prostate gland and seminal vesicles to produce their secretions
Negative feed back 🙂
How does inhibition of secretion of FSH and ICSH from the pituitary gland
As the concentration of testosterone builds up in the bloodstream
This leads to a decrease in Test obviously
Lol
Then what happens
This triggers the pituatry gland to again produce FSH and ICSH and so on
The menstrual cycle 🩸
How long does the peroid take bruh
28 days prob
Whats the first day called my guy
Blood flow
When does ovulation occur then?
Day 14
What are the 2 stages of the peroid
- Follicular phase (1st half of the cycle)
- The luteal phase (2nd half of the cycle)
FSH phase 😔
FSH is made where
Pituatry gland
What does FSH do in the phase
•stimulates development and maturation of a follicle
•stimulates production of eostrigen by follicle
