pathway

A
  • originates at lateral side of little toe
  • travels internally through sole to inferior and anterior aspect of navicular tuberosity, then runs posterior and inferior to medial malleolous
  • passes through Sanyinjiao (SP6) on posterior border of tibia then travels up towards popliteal dfossa b/t tendons of semimembranosous and semi tendinosus then up posteromedial aspect of thigh to coccyx at GV1 where connects to vertebral column and enters KI+BL
  • internally branches into 2 - one connects internally with LR+LU+ and finishes at PC - one re-emerges from Ki to connect with Ren-M and re-emerges 0.5cun lateral to anterior midline at level of superior border of pubic symphysis
  • continues upward and passes diaphragm 2 cun lateral to midline until inferior border of clavicle where it goes internally
  • terminates at lower surface of tongue
