What are the causes of kidney failure?

A
  • High Blood Pressure
    -> Ultrafiltration is already at high blood pressure
  • Kidney Infection
    -> Damage to cell/tissue of kidney
  • GFR: Glomerular filtrate Rate
    -> If low it shows the kidney is damaged

  • Blood will have decreased
  • urea
  • Ions e.g. Na+/cl-
  • H20 - osmoregulation
  • Fluid build up in tissues
  • proteins
  • large mo;molecules e.g. proteins + RBCs can be forced into the filtrate
  • can cause anemia
  • can be fatal
