Q

Knee Flexion MMT grade 3/4/5

16
Q

Knee Extension main muscles

A

rectus femoris and vastuses

17
Q

Knee extension MMT grade 0/1

A

supine; PT should palpate on the quad tendon

18
Q

Knee Extension MMT grade 2

A

sidelying lower test limb can be flexed to support. test limb should start at 90 degrees of hip flexion

19
Q

Knee Extension MMT grade 3/4/5

A

sitting; PT should never press on a locked knee

20
Q

hamstring test 90/90

A

patient in supine started with hip at 90 degrees and knee at 90 degrees. Slowly raise the lower leg. Patient gets a negative if knee is able to extend to 180 degrees without pain

21
Q

Hamstring test straight leg raise

A

patient in supine with LE extended. Gently raise the LE up. Patient gets a negative if hip is able to get to 90 degrees without pain

22
Q

Obers Test

A

Test for IT band tightness. Patient in slideline. leg goes into adduction with toe and knee pointed straight ahead. Negative if leg is at or below horizontal

23
Q

Elys test

A

test for quad (vastus) tightness. in prone have patient bend the knee and bring their heel toward their glutes. negative test if nee flexion goes beyond 90 degrees without tail bone raising

24
Q

thomas test

A

Hip flexor, quad and IT. Patient need to roll back on table with knees to chest for neutral pelvis position slowly drop testing leg down.

25
Q

Thomas Test: knee above the table

A

indicates hip flexor tightness

26
Q

Thomas test: foot not falling perpendicular to floor

A

indicates rectus tightness

27
Q

Thomas test (+J sign): knee lateral to ASIS

A

indicates IT band tightness
